The Grinch is stealing Christmas

Here it is, the holiday season, a time of love and good will toward your fellow man. I am finding this increasing difficult to reconcile in my brain as the vote for Nationalized Healthcare looms in the Senate on Christmas Eve. Is nothing sacred? Certainly not the preservation of Christmas or of our Constitution. At this point, I can only pray that one of the Dem or Independants in Washington, sees the light and votes thier concience. In this time of total deception, deciept and backroom dealings we can only hope for the best. The Senators are no longer accepting our voice mails and emails as thier boxes are full. Hopefully thier hearts (and brain) will be filled with the spirit of good will and this Healthcare bill will die on Thursday leading into a joyous celebration of Christmas. For those that do not find the courage to stand up to the Obama gang and say NO to this....you stocking will be hung by the chimney with care...over flowing with Pink Slips so they should beware.

So what do I want for Christmas? A renewed committment to our Constitution and the sacred values of our founding fathers. This ensures life. liberty and the pursuit of happiness for us all.

If you havent kept up with the last few days of action in Washington, the blizzard has done little to stop the Grinch from stealing Christmas. Sarah Palin had an excellent blog on facebook. Here is is in its entirity.

Midnight Votes, Backroom Deals, and a Death PanelShare
Yesterday at 9:52pm
Last weekend while you were preparing for the holidays with your family, Harry Reid’s Senate was making shady backroom deals to ram through the Democrat health care take-over. The Senate ended debate on this bill without even reading it. That and midnight weekend votes seem to be standard operating procedures in D.C. No one is certain of what’s in the bill, but Senator Jim DeMint spotted one shocking revelation regarding the section in the bill describing the Independent Medicare Advisory Board (now called the Independent Payment Advisory Board), which is a panel of bureaucrats charged with cutting health care costs on the backs of patients – also known as rationing. Apparently Reid and friends have changed the rules of the Senate so that the section of the bill dealing with this board can’t be repealed or amended without a 2/3 supermajority vote. Senator DeMint said:

“This is a rule change. It’s a pretty big deal. We will be passing a new law and at the same time creating a senate rule that makes it out of order to amend or even repeal the law. I’m not even sure that it’s constitutional, but if it is, it most certainly is a senate rule. I don’t see why the majority party wouldn’t put this in every bill. If you like your law, you most certainly would want it to have force for future senates. I mean, we want to bind future congresses. This goes to the fundamental purpose of senate rules: to prevent a tyrannical majority from trampling the rights of the minority or of future congresses.”

In other words, Democrats are protecting this rationing “death panel” from future change with a procedural hurdle. You have to ask why they’re so concerned about protecting this particular provision. Could it be because bureaucratic rationing is one important way Democrats want to “bend the cost curve” and keep health care spending down?

The Congressional Budget Office seems to think that such rationing has something to do with cost. In a letter to Harry Reid last week, CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf noted (with a number of caveats) that the bill’s calculations call for a reduction in Medicare’s spending rate by about 2 percent in the next two decades, but then he writes the kicker:

“It is unclear whether such a reduction in the growth rate could be achieved, and if so, whether it would be accomplished through greater efficiencies in the delivery of health care or would reduce access to care or diminish the quality of care.”

Though Nancy Pelosi and friends have tried to call “death panels” the “lie of the year,” this type of rationing – what the CBO calls “reduc[ed] access to care” and “diminish[ed] quality of care” – is precisely what I meant when I used that metaphor.

This health care bill is one of the most far-reaching and expensive expansions of the role of government into our lives. We’re talking about putting one-seventh of our economy under the government’s thumb. We’re also talking about something as intimate to our personal well-being as medical care.

This bill is so unpopular that people on the right and the left hate it. So why go through with it? The Senate is planning to vote on this on Christmas Eve. Why the rush? Though we will begin paying for this bill immediately, we will see no benefits for years. (That’s the trick that allowed the CBO to state that the bill won’t grow the deficit for the next ten years.)

The administration’s promises of transparency and bipartisanship have been broken one by one. This entire process has been defined by midnight votes on weekends, closed-door meetings with industry lobbyists, and payoffs to politicians willing to sell their principles for sweetheart deals. Is it any wonder that Americans are so disillusioned with their leaders in Washington?

This is about politics, not health care. Americans don’t want this bill. Americans don’t like this bill. Washington has stopped listening to us. But we’re paying attention, and 2010 is coming.

Juror Needed in New York

Today the White House announces that they are going to move the primary planner of the 9-11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and three of his accomplice's from Guantanamo Bay to New York to stand for a public trial.

What???

First of all these detainees are "prisoners of war" and we are not required to do much of anything with them. Assuming there is an argument to be made for some kind of due process as a matter of closure for us, then fine...it it should be done with a Military Tribunal. A Tribunal is quick, efficient and best suited to handle the security interest of a case like this. Instead of handling them as the "war criminals" that they are, we are giving them access to our court system and giving them the right of our own citizens. These men have no defense and have gladly accepted blame and responsibility for killing more then 3000 Americans and the Mo hammed of the World Trade Center on 9-11. They have asked to die yet we want to drag them thru a public trial to what end? Attorney General, Eric Holder, states that he will ask for the death penalty but why bring them into our court system? It is a maneuver to put the former administration, the CIA and our country on trial not the terrorist. It puts a liberal judge in charge of criminals that pose a significant threat to national security. In this type of proceeding, the "defendants" will be entitled to Discovery including the military records, investigating techniques of the CIA, investigation documentation and other sensitive data that does not need to be put on public display. They will also be entitled to a trial by a jury of their piers. Where do you find a pool of individuals that have any of the basic values or experiences necessary to be considered a "pier"? In addition, how many people live in New York have no knowledge or preconceived opinion of the destruction of the towers to qualify them to be an objective jurist. At the least you would have to go to Washington DC to find that. Then there is the issue of the bill...yes, you will have the privlage of paying for their defense as well. It is just a few more million into the endless pit Washington calls "progress". During a time of war, we are taking war criminals onto our soil and treating them to the privilege of our legal system in a feeble attempt to look like the US is taking a stand on something. People will clammer to the press to offer their opinion on how we tortured these guys with water boarding and lack of TV, to get information that saved us from additional attacks. This maneuver of the White House through the Attorney General, is undermining our military's authority and is completely irresponsible and dangerous. The Commander and Chief of the military seems to be intent on dismantling them as well as the CIA. It is no wonder that moral is so low. Unfortunately we do not have a President that shares our commitment to our troops, our citizens and our way of life. He is one among us and we have to continue to fight these injustices on every front.

So in the meantime, the major planner of 9-11 and his bud's will be in the Big Apple just blocks away from the World Trade Center site. I am sure the case will be handled with all the sensitivity, competence and expertise we have seen in other high profile trials, OJ Simpson comes to mind but at least he was an American.

It's All in a Word

First our heartfelt condolences to everyone that was affected by the attack on Thursday at Fort Hood in Killeen Tx. We stand in support and with prayers as they deal with loss, injury, trauma and the many questions about how this could happen on an Army post in Texas. We pray for comfort, healing, peace of mind and answers.

It is almost impossible to comprehend that we had a terrorist attack on our own by our own. What saddens me more is that the main stream media refuses to give an accurate description to the events of Thursday at Fort Hood. It's all in a word but words are powerful and they do have meaning. If the proper words are not used the entire meaning of the story is changed. We must accurately report situations like these for people to understand the scoop and significance of what has occured. If we don't understand the real story then will never be able to accurately exam it or prevent these things from happening in the future. As simple as it sounds, Dr. Phil McGraw is accurate when he says "You can't change what you dont acknowledge".

There is a reluctance to use the word "terrorist" or "terrorism". In some misguided attempt to be what they presieve as polite of politically correct, they fail to tell the truth. In the case of Fort Hood, this attitude cost 13 people thier lives. In part this starts with the top, Obama's decision to eliminate the use of phrases like "war on terror" which has lead to the media to soft shoe anything that appears to be a terrorist threat or deed. Another shining example of how Obama has lead the country into "La La Land". These people are real, the threat is real, the danger is obviously as close as our neighbor.

Let's look at the definitions:
terrorism, act of terrorism, terrorist act (the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear)

terrorist (a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities)

So to the list of accomplishments of Maj.Malik Hasan, a military doctor, a Muslim, a US born citizen, a college graduate, now add "Terrorist". I am grateful that we are not adding "martyr" to this list and the Major will be held accountable for his "hate crimes" (oh they probably wont call it that either)

What leads someone to this to become radical in thier beliefs to the point that they can seek out and kill their "brothers in arms" but have a moral issue with going over seas and killing Taliban / Al-Queda and other terrorist that plot against the US and it's citizens. I don't know but in my mind, I question all that refuse to see the situation for what it is. This starts with the Commander and Chief who unfortunatly is too sympethtic to the ones that want to see our demise. Obama has many of the same moral issues which carries down through the main stream media and throughout the govornment. Where is our American spine? This is not about religion, this is about a threat. Under any flag, religion or skin color, a threat to our own is a threat that should be called out and delt with in an honest mannor. Thank God for talk radio and Fox News that still have the ability to see the wrongs and use the proper words when reporting a story.

In the weeks to come, allot of opioning and finger pointing will be done. Hopefully we will begin to see "evil" and "truth" in the world around us and be empowered to change it. Each of us bears responsibility to see the truth, to use proper words, to protect ourselves and family. As the Fort Hood situation so tragically illustrates, you must be empowered with knowledge, understanding and a "skill at arms". This can happen anywhere.

This is an excerpt from Debra Medina, Candidate for Texas Governor....I thought it was right on point: Today though, beyond our shock, and beyond our grief, we must do something different. We must face the reality that this shooting underscores: It was not the first and it will not be the last. NO amount of military or police presence can protect us from an individual intent on doing harm. The protection of life, liberty and property must begin with us. We must be prepared to defend ourselves. In our earliest days as a country, Noah Webster recognized, "the whole body of the people are armed , and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, of any pretence, raised in the United States." Not even the greatest military can protect us. Everywhere, at all times, individuals must be prepared to defend themselves and their family. Do not be afraid, but be bold and courageous knowing that you have done all you can to protect yourself and your family. Take up arms, learn to use them and use them well. We will all be safer for it. Visit the Medina For Texas website at http://www.medinafortexas.com/.

The Left and Roman

by: Kevin S.

Roman Polanski’s arrest gives us a great insight into who the left really are. We can use the Hollywood elite as a good example of the type of liberals that fills the rank and file of the Democratic left in this country. Just get online and look at the list of celebrities supporting this sick petifile. They are also the ones who said president Bush was taking away our freedoms, he was Hitler, he was listening to our phone call (all 300 million of us) everything bad in this country was his or Dick Cheney’s fault, never looking in the mirror to see who the real culprits were.

The reasons these people are given so much press in because from a young age they have learned to be perceived as someone other than who they really are. Most Hollywood left wingers are not that intelligent; they just come across that way because they have been taught how to communicate better than most of us in society. But if you really listen to them, really listen, you will find out what a bunch of blithering idiots they really are. Just because they make a ton of money doesn’t make them smart. Read interviews with Brad Pit, Harrison Ford and especially Sean Penn. They have no idea most of the time what they are talking about. They talk in platitudes just like Obama. That is why they support him so much, he is one of them. All wonderful sound bites with nothing to back them up, no facts just more feel good BS, which leads me back to Roman Polanski. If these great insightful Hollywood brains had read the transcript from the Polanski trial, I can’t imagine any of them supporting this vile pig. Who knows what kind of man he was before his wife and unborn child were viciously murder by Charles Manson and company but it is no excuse for what he did to a 13 year old girl. And if they have read the transcripts and still support this man, they are just as bad as he is.

Woopi Goldburg lead the charge this week with her “rape, rape” comment. I knew she was lacking in morals but this was just ridiculous. Welcome to the party that wants God out of everything in our lives. You see, you take God out of the picture and there are no moral boundaries for society to base its laws on. There’s no more right and wrong just what the left believe doesn’t hurt them, which is everything right of center right now. The Ten Commandments have no meaning to these people which is what are laws are based on. Take them away and hey, anything goes, rape, incest, NAMBLA, bestiality, marring you pet if you want, murder, nothing is off limits. Unfortunately what you’ll have left is anarchy and then we’re back to where we were 200+ years ago, revolution, but it will be our children and grandchildren fighting the good fight with their blood, not us fighting with our votes.

So the next time you see one of those celebrities on the TV telling you what they think, remember Roman Polanski, did they support him? If they did, what are you going to do? I know what I’ll do.

Every 9-11 I watch at least one of the 9-11 videos so that I can refresh my mind and heart on the events of that day. It is important to remember how and why it happened. It also helps me to stay focused on why we have to make sure it never happens again. I watch it with my kids so that they will have a sense of the reality of the day that changed thier future. Yes it is raw but that is the truth and it should be experienced. We finish the day with a wonderful little book written by first graders that lived through the New York City story. It is called September 12th: We knew everything would be alright by Masterson Elementary. This is a positive end or rather beginning to the rest of the story from the kids perspecitves. It is hard to believe that it has been 8 years and those kids are now High School.

For the first seven years, we fought against terrorism. Now we find that we are also fighting against our own government leaders that want to "change history" or at the very least, soften it. The details of that day were brutal. The reality is that we do have enemies in this world are real and can will strike again. Undermining this day with ideas of "community service" and "volunteerism" is a ridiculous attempt to alter our memory and perception of this day. Although life does go on and we live and prosper, those that died that day and everyday since fighting terrorism, deserve our remembrance, resolve and gratitude. For those still fighting overseas and here at home, as well as all of our emergency responders that would gladly climb those steps again...you are not alone. UNITED WE STAND!

Judgment Day

Pamela Wagner says:

I have never commented on a blog before, but I have something on my mind I would like to share, that I believe many of us are thinking, but may find it in bad taste to say. Since being tactful has never been one of my blessings, here we go. I am sitting here thinking about how Ted Kennedy is doing today. Now that he is dead, he can no longer play politics and can no longer simply manipulate those around him through favors to his cronies or use of the Kennedy name. He is, right now, on the same playing field as every other child of God, standing before our Creator trying to justify the actions he has taken and the choices he has made in his life. Hmmmm . . . would not want to be in his shoes. I believe that we all reap what we sow. If this is true, then Mr. Kennedy will have to stand before God and the young girl he killed and try to justify her killing. He will have to stand before his forefathers and explain his unabashed mutilation of the Constitution they so lovingly and painstakenly created. He will have to stand before his prior constituants and be accountable for the horrific laws he pushed through Congress, and the misery these laws caused. He will also have to try to think of some way not to be sent to hell for his unwaivering support of Obama. Nope, I for one will not miss Mr. Kennedy. And, I certainly don't feel as though Mr. Kennedy's passing is the national tragedy being reported by the press. Rather, his passing is probably God's way of saying "enough is enough". All this being said, tonight I will pray for the repose of Mr. Kennedy's soul (its a Catholic thing) and will pray for those who loved him and are grieving. Loss of a loved one cannot and should not be trivialized or ridiculed, and my heart goes out to those who genuinely loved this man.

For your information - the Gov't run and sponsored: CASH FOR CLUNKERS had enough $$$ to last 4 months (so they said) but it was "broke" in 4 days. Now they are funding this program again .... Why you might ask ??????

Well you must first sign on through your computer to become eligible to participate in this CASH FOR CLUNKERS Program ..... Hum-m-m .... you might ask why ???? Because after you have filled in the screen completely up will bounce a screen that now tells you: " .... that all of your computers, telephones, cell phones and other electronic appliances are now the property of the U.S. Gov't and that these devices from here on will be continually monitored by the U.S. Gov't, many of it's agencies, all police agencies, even any foreign government agencies, and etc."

If you want to try this out borrow some one else's lap top (don't use yours, let them have the problem) this Gov't take-over of all the people of the U.S. is overwhelming. Speaking of Big Brother is watching!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobama said we would all get C-H-A-N-G-E, boy was he ever right .... is this what everyone who voted for Obama expected?

Great Day in Texas

Tax Day 04-15-2009
What a great day to be a Texan!

On tax day. April 15th. 2009, thousands turned out at venues all over the country to protest against the irresponsible spending and inept representation we have in Washington DC. People all over the country, from all walks of life and political backgrounds, are coming forward to say "Enough is Enough" to our elected officials. It was a wonderful day for Texans as Texas took center stage in this historical event. Our own Governor Rick Perry showed Texas sized passion and conviction as he hurled our dissenting message all the way to Washington. I have not been a fan or Mr. Perry's but all may be forgiven if he keeps up this tirade! It truly was a great day to be a Texan.

It was a great day as hundreds of thousands in America as well. The news heads quickly scrambled to spin the issue and events of the day while others ignored the entire story. The CNN anchorwoman (Susan Rosedon) actually took on a protester and made an absolute fool of herself right on camera. The New York Times simply decided it wasn't news worthy and did not cover the story. In fact, a spokesman from the White House said that Obama was not aware of the Tea Parties. Good, keep your head in the sand til 1010 and 1012.

The Homeland Security dept issued report this week regarding the increasing threat of the right wing activist....oh really. Apparently, it you support a single cause like abortion rights, right to bear arms, freedom of speech....you might be militant. If you are a member of special interest like NRA or a certain christian denomination....you might be militant. Also, if you oppose this President, find his or Congress behavior deplorable, and are planning to oppose them at every turn, you might be militant. Well, I know which side I am on, how about you?
This isn't a single day event, this is the beginning of us taking back our country. This "hope and change" isn't working. If you are wanting a socialist country, there are plenty out there that need workers. As for America, I am proud to see our resolve has returned. We will get this bull by the horns.....you know what happens to bulls, right?

We Bow to No One but God.

Mr. Obama, what are you thinking bowing to a Saudi King? I appreciate that Obama comes from Arab decent but this is absurd. Obama is certainly more "Arab" then "black" but actually he is more "white" then anything else. However, being of Arab decent does not mean you bow to a Saudi King! That was most unbecoming of a President and quite frankly, just one more reason why Obama should not be President!

At the same time, our Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is trying to establish some platform for conversation with Al Queda and the Taliban. This is so crazy the Taliban even said so in a recently released statement.

The fact is, Americana's bow to no one but God. Call it arrogant if you like but for the time being, we are the greatest country in the world. We are the world power leader in spite of our current administration. We offer no loyalty to any foreign leader or country. We do not negotiate with terrorist. The world's economic crisis is not our fault although we do take responsibility for our own problems just as the other country's are responsible for theirs.

So please Obama, if you are going to play President abroad, please read Ms Manners or Google the customs of the country's before you travel. We know this administration is a inept. we don't need it to be obvious to the world.

My Glock, my right

You never know what you've got until it's gone. Just ask the people of Australia or England that are no longer able to bear arms. They will be the first to tell Americans to Stop this before it goes any further. Our founding fathers knew the importance and freedom that our arms allowed. Before we allowed our government to begin stripping us of our rights, with all of the registration and limitations placed on gun ownership, we were a safer country. I am blessed to live in Texas where our leaders in Austin are starting to "get it" and slowly are restoring our gun rights. We have along way to go to change the perception of gun owners and educate people on the importance of preserving our second Amendment rights. One place to start is by understanding how the government is trying to undermine our rights, right under our nose. Here is a great example. It has been halted for now but it will be back as long as this administration is in office so please use this time to read, research, take a firearm training "comfort of skill at arms", become part of the solution to restore our constitutional rights. We need you.

WEAPONS OF CHOICE Military demands details on soldiers' private guns Fort Campbell command reversed under pressure Posted: March 21, 200912:15 am Eastern
By Bob Unruh© 2009 WorldNetDaily

A military commander at Fort Campbell in Kentucky demanded his soldiers give him the registration numbers of any guns they own privately and then reveal where they are stored.
The order was stopped, according to base officials, when it was discovered the commander was not "acting within his authority." The original order was issued on the letterhead of Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment and said effective March 11, any soldier with a "privately owned weapon" was required to submit the information, along with any information about any concealed carry permit the soldier may have, and what state issued the permit.
Further, the rule warned, "If any soldier comes into possession of a Privately Owned Weapon following the effective date of this memorandum, he is required to inform the Chain of Command of the above information." One soldier who objected to the demands circulated the memo, commenting that he lives off post. "It just seems a little coincidental to me that within 90 days the most anti-firearm president in history is inaugurated, some of the nastiest anti-firearm laws are put on the table in Washington, and then the Army comes around wanting what amounts to a registration on all firearms, even if they are off post, and doesn't provide any reason or purpose as to why," the soldier said. Base spokeswoman Cathy Gramling told WND the letter apparently was a mistake. She said the base requires anyone bringing a privately owned weapon onto the installation to register it. " As a response to a number of negligent discharges of privately owned weapons, the command decided to explore how to implement a training program for soldiers with privately owned weapons. Their goal is to identify soldiers with firearms and provide additional safety training to them, much like our motorcycle and driver safety classes," she said.
"Our soldiers train and operate in combat with M-4 carbines and various other military weapons, but not all who purchase their own weapons are properly trained to handle them. Determining which soldiers possess weapons will allow the command to identify the soldiers who may require additional training on them," she said. Learn here why it's your right – and duty – to be armed.
Gramling said the memo was "from a subordinate unit commander who, at the time, believed he was acting within his authority." She said requiring the information was halted when it was discovered the commander was not within his authority. The process has been suspended pending a full review, she said. "This is not an effort to infringe on soldiers' rights to own firearms," Gramling told WND. Mistake or not, the commander's order comes on the heels of a Department of Defense policy that limited the supply of ammunition available to the private gun owners by requiring destruction of fired military cartridge brass. That policy already had been implemented and had taken a bite out of the nation's stressed ammunition supply before it was reversed this week. Mark Cunningham, a legislative affairs representative with the Defense Logistics Agency, explained in an e-mail to the office of Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., that the Department of Defense had placed small arms cartridge cases on its list of sensitive munitions items as part of an overall effort to ensure national security is not jeopardized in the sale of any Defense property. "Upon review, the Defense Logistics Agency has determined the cartridge cases could be appropriately placed in a category of government property allowing for their release for sale," Cunningham wrote.

What's all the Fuss?

What's all the fuss? It appears that the D.C. crowd is unhappy about AIG giving out employee bonuses. I don't know why they are making such an issue of it when it was totally within their ability to monitor the spending plan and set ground rules before they handed over billions of our dollars to an inept company. If AIG was so badly run then why would you give them our money in the first place? Hey Washington, don't bother with your shock and dismay, it doesn't play well. As a matter of fact, from an internal memo issued today, it stated that the bonus issue had been disclosed all along. Besides, these bonus are less the 1% of the bail out so why is this any different from those spending bill earmarks that Obama doesn't want us to fret over? This is just another reason why we need to let these business go under and let the market work. We really need to start taking responsibility for our actions.

I don't know why it is so difficult for people to simply say "Gee, I messed up and now I have to fix this" we would rather poke fingers and blame the other guy. Reminds me of those credit service commercials, you know, the ones that tell you that it isn't your fault your in credit card debt and don't pay.... negotiate so part of your balance will be forgiven. That is just stupid thinking. I dont mean to sound harsh her but YES it is your fault you have credit issues. Nothing is free and why should a company that did business with you in good faith, suddenly have to renegotiate or forgive (write off) some of your obligations? Now I am sympathetic to some and I do understand that things happen in life that are sad and/or unexpected but that doesn't give us the right to lay our responsibilities off on someone else. Everything works out but we have to" own it" so we can take action to change it.
This is true for you and me as well as groups like D.C. and AIG. Hey it's just another day in America.

I recieved this in an email today and thought it was just too on the mark, not to share.

Pam Geller, an educated, articulate, and patriotic American says here what so many of us feel in our heart but do not have her gift of communication to express. I appeal to you to read her words and add your strength and commitment to those of us who are resisting this disasterous turn of events in the new direction being taken by our government. Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it. . . . . . . ETSPay special attention to the last six paragraphs and remember that the three pillars of Fascism are total control of the economy by a tightly centralized government with suppression of all opposition. --Boyd "Something of Historic Proportion is Happening" by Pam GellerI am a student of history. Professionally. I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied [History] all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes, these exist, but, they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus. Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm maybe brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about 10 - 15 years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two. We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people whom we know can never pay back? Why? We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past September.Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "We the People," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not. We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why? We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving.. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate.. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, and school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why? We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?). We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose? Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, Social Security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about.) The list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x 10. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so. And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.) Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why? I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now. This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again. And that is only the beginning. I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully them into submission. And then he was duly elected to office, with a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think. How did he get the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - Did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and.... change. And the people surely got what they voted for. (Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.) Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years - a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency - it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them. As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong, close my eyes, have another latte and ignore what is transpiring around me. Some people scoff at me; others laugh or think I am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe - and why I believe it. I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am.Pamela "Atlas" Geller ________________________________________

No safety net here. FDIC going broke too.

Now that you have run for safety in FDIC insured banks, it appears we are not safe at all. In fact the FDIC announced today that they are in danger of being insolvent by the end of the year is they are not able to assess emergency fees on to the banks. So what does this really mean. Well, if you have $100,000 in a FDIC insured account then the bank is paying .06 per $100 to carry the insurance on that account. The new fees would take that .06 to just over .20. The amount collected for last year was 3 billion. With the new assessment, the banks will need to cough up 27 billion to replenish this fund. The FDIC reports that they are expecting bank failure losses to reach 80 billion (2008-2013) This is double the estimate they gave us last fall. In 2008, there were 25 bank failures. In 2009 there have already been 15.

The banks will obviously protest this and then the FDIC will do it anyway. The FDIC chairwoman, Sheila Bair said "These steps are necessary because banks - and not taxpayers - are expected to fund the system." What? Where does she think this comes from....um, the profits of the banks.....oh wait, they don't have any profits anymore do they?

Your dollar is getting less valuable by the day and it is costing the banks more to insure it....yeah, it's just another day in America!

Zeig Heil!

If at the age of 60 I am no longer responsible enough to own a gun to protect myself, does that mean that I am no longer responsible enough to cast a ballot, to deserve medical care, to drive a car, to take care of my financial responsibilities ? What about people of Special Needs, do we then eradicate health care for the mentally and physically challenged ? Does that mean that at 60 you are not responsible enough to serve in our government, to be productive in any way. If you are mentally and physically challenged you do not have the right to live ? Our government will decide who lives and dies, which child will be born, which child will be killed ?

I find there is nothing more profitable than non-profit. Will our government decide which non-profit agency deserves our tax dollars ? No good deed goes unpunished, if I CHOOSE to support my church, I will be punished by a reduction in charitable giving and further have to pay taxes on these gifts. Will our government decide which churches or religions are suitable for me ? Which church will remain open to worship in the manner I think and believe is right for me ?

The so called Fairness Doctrine will remove my freedom of speech, freedom to read a book, to write and publish a book that is not in agreement with our government, to write a letter to the Editor. Where does it stop ? Every American that truly cares about FREEDOM should not stand for the tyranny that is taking place in our Nation. Regardless of your party affiliation do you not see that your freedoms are being stripped away from you ? That you do not matter, an agenda so vicious that nothing matters but THE AGENDA !

Never in the History of this country has it been under such attack from within and WE THE PEOPLE need to UNITE against the attack on our Constitution ! If you do not see it as a personal attack against YOU, then God help us all !

How can you stand before God and ask Him to continue to bless America, when we allow this attack on the very core beliefs our Country was founded ?

Remember these two words ZEIG HEIL !

OBAMA'S TWO-WEEK RECAP
1, The American people elect a president with a total of 42 days experience as a U S Senator from the most politically corrupt state in America whose governor is ousted from office. The President's first official act is to close Gitmo and make sure Terrorists civil rights are not violated.
2, The U.S. Congress rushes to confirm Attorney General, Eric Holder, whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo Terrorists.
3, The CIA Boss, Leon Penetta with absolutely no experience, has a daughter Linda we find out, that is a true radical anti-American activist who is a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the western hemisphere.
4. We got the most corrupt female in America as Secretary of State; bought and paid for.
5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who files his own taxes.
6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges.
7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under charges.
8. A Labor Sec'y nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical conduct.
9. A Sec'y HHS nominee who withdrew under charges of cheating on his taxes.
10. Congress passes the most expensive spending plan in history. Do you realize if Jesus Christ spent 1 MILLION dollars a day til now, he would still have money to burn!

And that's just the first two weeks . . . but who's counting?
Well actually WE ARE!
